Meet the newest addition to the Budweiser Clydesdale herd

2023 Budweiser Clydesdale Foals

The beloved and famous Budweiser Clydesdales recently welcomed four new foals to the herd. Bred and born at the the Budweiser Clydesdale official breeding facility Warm Springs Ranch in Boonville, MO these adorable foals, Barron, Sergeant, Stinger and Razor, had an exclusive Super Bowl watch party for SBLVII.

Clydesdales

A native Scottish breed, Clydesdales were bred for industrial and heavy farm work. Due to their impressive size, gentle personality, trainability and distinctive gate, Clydesdales have become the symbol for Anheuser-Busch Brewing Company since 1933. The brewery’s CEO, Mr. Busch had always admired these majestic horses and received Clydesdales as a gift from his son.

The average height of a full grown Clydesdale can exceed 18 hands and weigh between 1,700 and 2,200 pounds. Their genetically strong feathering around their hooves is a signature trait. Their massive hooves are about four times bigger than a thoroughbred horse’s, measuring approximately 22 inches from end to end. A Clydesdale’s strength is remarkable. They are able to pull a cart weighing 200-400 pounds for hours and a pair of Clydesdales can pull about 18,000 pounds.

Additionally, newborn Clydesdales can weigh 110-180 pounds and can gain about four pounds per day in the first few months of its’ life. A mother Clydesdale can produce about 100 pounds of milk per day for her foal.
