This summer, the Palace of Versailles is transforming into an equine art gallery.

The exhibition, “Horse in Majesty,” delves into the profound impact of horses on Western civilization. From their role in warfare and agriculture to their place in art and culture, the exhibition offers a comprehensive exploration.

Over 300 artworks, spanning from the 16th to the 20th centuries, will be showcased across the palace’s iconic rooms. Visitors can expect to see masterpieces by renowned artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Peter Paul Rubens, alongside lesser-known works that highlight the horse’s enduring fascination.

The exhibition coincides with the equestrian events of the Paris 2024 Olympics, adding an extra layer of excitement to this already captivating display.
