The Royal Horse Show, a highlight of the fair, showcased the pinnacle of show jumping talent. Over 1,000 competitors vied for over $1,000,000 in prize money, culminating in the prestigious Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Toronto. Last year’s event witnessed a historic moment, as young American rider Alex Matz, riding Ikigai, claimed his first-ever five-star grand prix victory, echoing his father’s triumph at the same venue decades prior. Matz’s flawless jump-off performance secured his win, followed closely by Canadian Olympian Tiffany Foster and seasoned competitor McLain Ward.
Prior to the World Cup, the $125,000 Henry Equestrian Canadian Show Jumping Championship thrilled spectators. Amy Millar, riding Jelvinia MB, emerged victorious, showcasing exceptional skill and composure. The championship, held over two intense phases, highlighted the dedication and talent of Canadian riders.
Beyond the thrilling competitions, the Royal Horse Show offers captivating entertainment, including aerial performances, musical acts, and drumline displays, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
