He is also a successful coach, and has trained many young riders to the top level of the sport.

Alexa began riding in Connecticut at the Fairfield Hunt Club under the supervision of Emerson Burr. Alexa met her husband, Rodrigo Pessoa, through travels on the circuit, and they compete internationally while raising their daughters.
