Milliner Lisa Battaglia’s individual style adds an artistic bent
to her avant-garde hats.

In 2009, Lisa started designing hats and it wasn’t long before she received accolades and press in Vogue, Marie Claire, Glamour, and InStyle. Celebrities such as Britney Spears, Steven Tyler, and Alison Sweeney have donned her hats, and she’s received awards for her craft including two Mili awards.

Lisa’s hats are inspired by Impressionism.

Lisa’s approach to designing hats, called millinery, is that of an artistic bent. She often relates to the period of Impressionism for her avant-garde style of creating free-form shapes.
She adapts shapes of traditional millinery blocks by cutting crowns to create new crowns, and adapting brims with new shapes by utilizing old-school blocks from bygone years to create new looks.

Her trendsetting approach sets her apart because of this individualized style. She is a true craftsman honing her skills as both an artist and a designer.
