The life-affirming color, Living Coral, energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.
Pantone, the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, announced 16-1546 Living Coral as the Pantone Color of the Year 2019. It is an animating and life-affirming shade of orange with a golden undertone. Pantone says, “We get energy from nature, and just as coral reefs are a source of sustenance and shelter to sea life, vibrant yet mellow Pantone Living Coral embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment.”
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute notes, “With consumers craving human interaction and social connection, the humanizing and heartening qualities displayed by the convivial Pantone Living Coral hit a responsive chord.”
To arrive at the selection each year, color experts at the Pantone Color Institute comb the world looking for new color influences including the entertainment industry and films, art collections and new artists, fashion, home furnishings, and industrial design, as well as product, packaging and graphic design.
