Lauren, owner and founder of Show the Bows, has had a lifelong passion for horses. Her mother passed down the horse-loving gene, practically born into the equestrian world. Lauren’s parents enrolled her in riding lessons as soon as they could.
Lauren’s entrepreneurial spirit was evident early on. At her third birthday pony party, she surprised everyone by taking the leadrope and giving her friends pony rides. Her parents, who were initially concerned, soon realized that Lauren had caught the horsegirl bug.
She spent countless hours at the barn with horses and horse people throughout her childhood. Lauren credits horses with her success in and out of the barn. Teaching her hard work, tenacity, patience, and kindness, she is immensely grateful for the graces these amazing animals have gifted her.
The equestrian experience of her childhood through college laid the foundation for her future success in the equestrian industry. Horses have been a constant presence in her life, taking her around the world, supporting her family, and providing countless unforgettable experiences.
From Riding to Entrepreneurship
Lauren’s love for horses continued throughout her college years, and she never turned down an opportunity to ride, no matter the experience level. Her dedication and passion for horses have shaped her career and personal life.
Before accepting an exciting international event planning role, Lauren rode professionally for some of the nation’s top programs, including Heritage Farm. While she loved the travel of her corporate job, Lauren realized that her true passion was with horses.
The Birth of Show the Bows
Years ago, Lauren’s beloved dog Quinn became ill, and she started creating and selling her bows to raise funds for her vet bills. After creating a special set for a friend’s child riding in the leadline class at The Devon Horse Show, she realized this could be her career.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, with horse shows still taking place, she saw an opportunity to offer riders customized, high-quality hair bows. Her attention to detail, passion for horses, and exceptional customer service quickly set Show the Bows apart.
Lauren’s commitment to quality is evident in every bow she creates. Each bow is handmade with precision and care, using only premium materials, including custom ribbons designed by her colleague and friend, Jessica Pirrone. She offers a wide range of customization options, ensuring that each customer receives a truly unique, special bow for young riders to treasure along with the accompanying horse show memories.

It has allowed her to balance work and motherhood in a way that she never thought possible.
When we asked Lauren what the most rewarding part of her business was, she replied with a smile, “Seeing young riders feel confident with their bows on, and the magic of seeing their creation come to life. I never want to lose how special that is.”
Giving Back to the Equestrian Community
Beyond running a successful business, Lauren is passionate about giving back to the equestrian community. She supports various horse-related charities and initiatives, including those focused on horse and dog rescue and welfare. Shelter pets are particularly special to Lauren, since Quinn was the original inspiration for her brand. She adopted a new dog as well who is often seen on Instagram stories helping in the bow room!
Future Plans
Lauren’s vision for Show the Bows is to continue growing and expanding its reach. She aims to travel to more horse shows and personally meet with customers to create even more personalized bows.
