Some drinks become inseparable from the events they belong to: the Mint Julep at the Kentucky Derby, the Honey Deuce at the US Open. They’re not just beverages; they’re part of the ritual.
The Winter Equestrian Festival is adding one of its own. The Show Pony, debuting at WEF 2026, is the event’s first official signature cocktail, developed in partnership with Chrome Horse Society Tequila. It’s a small but meaningful addition to a festival that has long been as much about atmosphere as competition.
Built around Chrome Horse Society’s triple-distilled tequila, the drink was designed with WEF’s particular character in mind — the long afternoons, the social energy, the mix of serious sport and easy elegance that defines Wellington’s winter circuit. It will be served in a limited-edition commemorative cup made for the 2026 season.
For Chrome Horse Society founder Jack Morgan, the pairing felt natural. “WEF brings together the best riders, horses, and fans from around the world, it deserves a signature drink that reflects that level of excellence.”
The Show Pony will be available throughout WEF 2026 at the Central Park Bar, the International Club, the Tiki Hut, and satellite bars across the show grounds.
